The things I do.....

Last Friday I was working on finishing a local custom order before heading out to work and I was trying to remember why it was that I needed to drive into work.... I tried for a good 10 min while I wrapped the book up and packed my lunch. It was a lovely day and I really wanted to ride to work and couldn't remember why I needed to drive so I hopped on to my bike and enjoyed the ride!

I got to work and found the note "DON'T FORGET BANANA FIBER TREE". I had volunteered to bring a tree from work for people to hang purses off on in our street faire booth and we needed it for the dress rehearsal this weekend. I went outside and stuck a tree across the bike lane and it just fit inside. Score! The tree went on the rack, bungies went on, and I went riding down the road banana fiber tree in tow. I also learned that bike lanes are about 4.5 feet wide.

I got some pretty funny looks and I hope that I made a few people smile as I zoomed past them stuck in Friday afternoon traffic. I think I'll take it back to work the same way :D

ps- Like my ride? I love her! The red velvet detailing is my favorite part

I think it's awesome you took the tree on your bike! I wish more would ride their bikes around here in our town. It's totally doable since everything is pretty close by. I need to get a bike (savin' up for one!)!

That's so great! I would have liked to have seen that! That's one of the things I miss most about moving out to the edge of town, riding my bike. The poor thing is collecting dust in storage. I live down a 1/4 mile stretch of gravel road right againt Fern Ridge. Argh!
The note you dropped me about the front page, I totally missed it! Never knew I was there. I didn't even make a sale! :(

Take care and don't work TOO hard!

Thank you both!

I have to admit that I am totally a fair weather biker. I like to blame on the fact that my bike doesn't really like to stop when the tires are wet, but really I don't like to ride in the cold rain. I own all the gear to do, I just don't enjoy it. However the last two weeks on the bike have been great. I enjoy it much more than the bus and think it's a great way to start the day.
Eugene isn't actually a bad town to bike in, we have a pretty good system of bike paths and lanes and it doesn't take too long to get where you are going. My ride to work is only 10-15 minutes depending on stop light luck so I've got no reason not to ride.

Best of luck with a bike Beverly! We might be buying one this weekend for a friends birthday gift.

Candice thats too bad about your bike! I can't imagine living that far out of town with the rising gas prices. My husband and I almost never drove our car before but now we are really organized about the trips we take.
